My Story

From a Kitchen Fall to a Calling

My name is Corbin Piccione, Licensed Neuromuscular Therapist. My journey into this field began with an injury. I was working as a chef in New York when I took a severe fall in the kitchen that left me with intense pain in my back and legs.

For a long time I struggled to find relief. Nothing worked, until I met a neuromuscular therapist who actually treated the source of my pain. That experience changed everything, and I left the culinary world to devote myself to this work.

For the past 10 years I have proudly served the Upstate of South Carolina. My goal is not only lasting, pain-free results, but giving you the knowledge to keep your body healthy long after you leave my table.

— Corbin Piccione, LNMT

How I Work

Neuromuscular therapy is a specialized form of clinical manual therapy focused on the relationship between your nervous system and your muscles. Unlike general massage that chases surface tension, I use precise assessment and targeted pressure to find and correct the specific dysfunctions actually causing your pain.

Every session begins with a postural assessment, not a menu of services. I look at how your body holds itself, find the patterns creating your pain, and apply the exact combination of techniques your body needs. It is diagnostic, clinical work, the same approach sports medicine professionals use with elite athletes.

"Most people have been told they just have to live with their pain. Neuromuscular therapy proves that wrong every day. When you treat the cause instead of chasing the symptom, the body heals itself." — Corbin Piccione, LNMT

The 5 Factors of Chronic Pain

Pain persists for specific physiological reasons. Neuromuscular therapy identifies which of these five are at play and targets them directly, instead of covering symptoms with drugs.

Factor 01

Ischemia

Restricted blood flow starves muscle tissue of oxygen, creating that deep, persistent ache. NMT restores circulation to relieve pain at the source.

Factor 02

Trigger Points

Hyperirritable knots that refer pain elsewhere. A trigger point in your shoulder can cause a headache. NMT maps and releases each one.

Factor 03

Nerve Compression

Tight muscle and fascia compress nerves, causing numbness, tingling, and radiating pain. NMT releases the pressure trapping the nerve.

Factor 04

Postural Distortion

Sitting, repetitive movement, and old injuries create imbalances. NMT corrects the muscular patterns pulling your body out of alignment.

Factor 05

Biomechanical Dysfunction

When joints and muscles stop moving as designed, compensations spread through the body. NMT restores proper mechanics so you work as a unit.

Which Technique is Right for You?

You don't need to know — and that's the point.

Corbin begins every appointment with a thorough postural assessment, then selects and applies the most effective combination of techniques for your body. He adjusts throughout the treatment based on how your tissues respond. Your job is simply to show up. It's his job to find the solution.

This isn't a spa where you pick from a menu. This is clinical neuromuscular therapy, and every session is customized to what your body needs that day.

Your First Visit

What to Expect

Your first session begins with a detailed health history and movement assessment. I evaluate your posture, range of motion, and pain patterns to build a treatment plan made for you, not a template.

The hands-on work is focused and purposeful, precise pressure applied to specific muscles and trigger points. Most patients feel significant relief within the first one to three sessions, with lasting results building over a course of care.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is neuromuscular therapy different from a regular massage?

Regular massage relaxes. NMT is clinical and diagnostic. I assess your posture and movement, find the root cause of your pain, and treat it with targeted techniques to create lasting change, not a temporary feel-good.

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients feel significant relief in the first one to three sessions. Lasting results build over a course of care tailored to your body and your goals. I will always be honest about what you need.

Do I need a referral?

No referral needed. You can book directly. I treat both everyday pain and athletic performance, and I will refer out if something is outside the scope of muscular therapy.

Where are you located?
